UC Davis Volleyball Tournament

Last Saturday, the Varsity boys went to a VB tournament at UC Davis.  We were playing without Parker and Trever (our libero).  We met at 6:00 am, and drove up to Davis and got set up there.
The boys line reffed the first game and kept score.  (This ref in the picture was our ref for our first three games.  He was so awesome!  He joked around with the boys, tried to block some shots and dig some balls while they were warming up, and got into the huddle with them before the game!) (I think they are laughing in the picture because the coach on one of the teams that was playing got hit with a spiked ball in his privates.)
The facility was really cool.  They had four games going on down on the floor and two up top of the seats.  Here is Concord playing their first game.
 Huddling up with Coach Romer.
 Taking a break between games.
We were so lucky that we were under the overhang since it POURED during the day!
Travis stayed home with Calissa (since Parker wasn't playing) and watched Christopher, Lindsay and Emily for 5 hours that afternoon/evening since Tina had to work.  He did a great job and I was grateful to not have to watch them all day at the tournament.
The boys did not play their best, and had a frustrating day, but it was a good experience for them.  Here they are before the last game that day.  Don't ask what they are doing!
We stopped at Chipotle for dinner with part of the team.
There was a beautiful sunset on the way home.  We enjoyed it for about 15 minutes as the sun was going down.  Once we got back to Concord, most of the boys came over to our house to watch the BYU men's VB game on TV.  They had fun hanging out and we enjoyed having them over.  However, after spending 16 hours with them on Saturday, I was happy to kick them out at 10 pm!
