Final Choir Concert

The boys' last choir concerts for the year were Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.  We were able to attend on Thursday night.  We had already seen most of the show since we had been on tour, but it was great to see them perform again!
After the show we grabbed a few pictures.
Conner really didn't want me to take one ... can you tell?
Parker and Victoria after the show.
Here are the kids on the final night.  We were at Calissa's play that night.  There were a lot of emotions as it was the seniors last concert!  These are a great group of kids!

Calissa's 13th Birthday!

Calissa's birthday was on Memorial Day so she was lucky and had the day off of school!
She opened her presents and was excited about a new book for her Kindle,
 some fuzzy new slippers,
 a neck pillow,
and she got her ears pierced!

Victoria bought her a present too ... she was so excited!
Victoria's birthday is the day before Calissa's so we celebrated her birthday too!
We went to Benihana that night for dinner.YUM!!
Calissa had her birthday party that following Wednesday.
She had her party at Grandma's house again to do crafts!

Volleyball Team Party

So many things going on these last few weeks of school!  One of those things was the team party for Volleyball!
One of the moms made this great cake.  She is always willing to share her talents!
Thanks Debbie!  It looked great again!
Victoria and Calissa at the party.
We had a great turn-out!
Uncle Drew (Coach Romer) has the boys talk about their teammates.  Trever was assigned to talk about Conner.  He talked about Conner taking a very hard hit off his face and it going back over the net!  :)
Zach talked about Parker and what kind of team-mate he is.  Also, he talked about always having a positive attitude.  Both boys got scholar athlete awards and NCS certificates as well as NCS scholar athlete awards.
Parker and Trever won co-MVP this season!  There are 13 boys so there shouldn't have been a tie, but one boy voted for himself, so that left a tie between the boys!  So happy that it worked out that way!  They are both very deserving!
Parker, Zach and Trever

I'm sad Volleyball is over for these boys!  I'm happy though that Conner is going to continue to play. I love watching them play Volleyball!

High School Awards

The boys had their award ceremonies last week.  I was unable to go to Conner's during the school day (since I was subbing full-time ) but Travis was able to attend and take a picture.

Conner received the award for Geometry and 4.0 award for all of his Freshmen year!
So awesome!! We are so proud of him!
Parker's was held the same day, just in the evening.
He received quite a few awards and we were so proud of him.
He received the Golden State Seal Merit Scholar Award, President's Education Award, 4.0 Award for all of High School (with $100 scholarship from the PFC), He was nominated for Minutemen of the Year the the Citizenship Award.  He won the Outstanding Boy Award for the senior class and also won the EDDIE Award for Sports (Enthusiasm, Dedication, Discipline, Inspiration, and Encouragement).  Oh yeah ... and I won one of the service awards (how embarrassing!)

We made the playoffs!

The boys won two very important games the next to the last week of the season to put them in a position to make it to the NCS playoffs.  They ended the season with a winning league record (7-5) with huge wins over Clayton Valley and Berean to advance.  They ended up a 10 seed and were scheduled to play a 7 seed.  They played in El Cerrito on Wednesday night.
Before the game.
Warming up.  Parker is number 2 and Conner is number 22.
Announcing the players after the National Anthem.
Introducing the other team.
 Let's go Concord!

(Conner)
 Good luck.
The four referees for our game. Fist bumps all around.
During the playoffs they have paid line judges as well.
Trever with his "woo pants."

Off they come!  (A present from Tyler before he left on his mission).
Let's play Concord!
 Conner setting.

Our boys played sooooo good!  They were in control at all times.  It was great to see them so confident out there on the court.  We won the 1st game 25-23.
 Keep it up Concord!
Smiles all around.  Maybe we can do this!
Great positive coaching from Coach Romer.  We were so lucky to have him coaching this year!
 Parker with a kill.
Another hit from the back row.
We won the 2nd game 25-18!
We lost the 3rd set 25-23.  We were down 24-18 and ended up almost coming back!  They played so well. We won the 4th set 25-19!
The boys were so excited!  This was the first post season win for CHS Boys Volleyball in at least 11 years (and probably longer)!  Way to go Concord!  We play Las Lomas on Friday night.
Friday night we played Las Lomas, the number 2 seed.  We had played them already this season and they were VERY GOOD!  Unfortunately, Coach was in Utah running a marathon on Saturday morning so he wasn't there to coach the team.  So, the JV Coaches, Clayton, Marley & Mariah helped out.
The National Anthem before the game and announcing the players
 Let's go Concord!

Austin and Conner subbing for each other.
Conner came in to set in the back row and Austin set in the front row.
Both my boys in the picture!
They lost in 3 sets, but had some good rally's during the game.  They had a great season and we were so proud of them!
