Typical Sports Season

It's a typical sports season at the Burr house. Both of the boys are injured at the moment.  Parker sprained his ankle again.
Luckily, this time he only missed one game.  It's still a little swollen and painful, but he's managing with a brace.  (It only was swollen about the size of a golf ball this time!)
Conner you're better off asking him what doesn't hurt.  He's got a hurt foot, a hurt shoulder (since last July), and lots of bruises!  Poor guy!  Hopefully he can heal a little over Spring Break.

Volleyball has started

CHS Volleyball has started and both my boys are playing.  Conner made JV and Parker made Varsity.  Conner (#1) is playing setter.
Here he is in action his first game. (They won!)
Then after just one game and a JV tournament, Andrew told him last Sunday that he was moving him up to Varsity.  He was pretty excited.  Here is the Varsity starters at the game on Tuesday.  (Parker is number 2)
 Go Concord!
 Time-out with Coach Romer
Here is Parker hitting the ball.
Conner came in to set in the 3rd set and they won, but lost in the 4th set.
Conner did great after he got the nerves worked out!  It's especially cool when Conner sets Parker and Parker gets the kill!  Fun to have both my boys on the same team!
(Conner is number 22 in an extra large shirt!  It looks like a short dress on him!)
Concord Varsity lost their first 3 games of the season, but won last night against Clayton Valley.  They were down 2 sets to none, but ended up winning the next 3!  Set 3 was 25-20, Set 4 was 25-23, and set 5 was 15-13.  What an exciting win for Concord (who hasn't beat CV in years)!
Let's Go Concord!!

BYU Volleyball

Last Saturday we actually had a day free of Show Choir so we made the  most of it.  The boys had a stake basketball playoff game that morning (that they won).  Then, after a quick bite of lunch we went to see the movie "McFarland."  What a great movie.  Then, after a quick stop and home and a trip to the grocery store, we headed to Stanford to watch BYU play.   Victoria spent the day with us too!

They are such great players and we had a fun time cheering them on.
Unfortunately they lost, but we still love BYU!!

Senior Banquet

Last Friday was Senior Banquet. He went with his buddies (they all wore their show choir outfits).
He received the "Most Likely to Be in the Olympics" award!
Congrats Parker! Now, go out and run!

Dr. Suess's Birthday!

 Lucky Me!  Lucky Me!
I got to sub for a week in the SDC last week and it was Dr. Seuss, Read Across America Week!
We started the week off by having Green Eggs & Ham!
We had lots of fun guest readers come in this week as well.
 Wednesday was "Wacky Wednesday."
What's wrong with Abe and George?
Most of the class checking out the wacky bathroom. (I love these kids!)
We made these cute fish bowl math things while I was there. (Of course we ate the extras!)
We had a lot of visitors this week, but our favorite was a therapy dog named "Duley" and his human friend (who had the best English accent)!
Happy Dr. Seuss week!
