Armed Forces Half Marathon

Travis ran his first half marathon last Saturday.  He was lucky because a lot of half marathons are on Sunday.  This one was on Saturday AND it was in Concord!
Trav was super speedy!  He finished in 1:38 minutes with a 7:30 pace! 49th overall and 5th in his age group!
Andrew finished a minute ahead of Trav.  Congrats to both of you!!

Calissa is 15!

Calissa turned 15 last Thursday and we went to Benihana to celebrate!  She was excited to receive a new Kindle and a Fitbit for her birthday.
She is planning on having a sleepover in a couple of weeks to celebrate with her friends.  Happy Birthday Calissa!  We're so glad that you are part of our family!

CHS Award's Night

These two got awards at the CHS Award's Night last night.
Calissa received the Outstanding Athlete in PE 9 award.
Out of all three kids, she is the first one to get a PE award!
Conner got his Academic Letter for 5 semesters of 3.5 or above.
He also received a 4.0 award.
He also received Excellence in Accounting
and one for Pre-Calculus as well.

Very proud of both of the kids!  Can't believe how fast they are growing up!

Open House

I've been teaching 3rd grade since the middle of February at Monte Gardens.  Right before Spring Break the teacher told me she wasn't going to be coming back this year so I ended up deciding to stay for the rest of the year.  The district has this one time waver that you can sign to be able to stay in a position for more than 30 days in a school year.  This year seemed like the time to do that.  I've loved my time in the class so far!  They are a great group of kids and great teachers I'm working with.
This week was Open House.  All but 2 of the families came to check out all their hard work.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a great day! Trav and the kids made it a special day, but the highlight was being able to Skype with Parker!  He was going to call around 2:00 (which is right when church is getting out).  We decided to leave church around 1:30, so we could be home and ready for his call.  We had some trouble connecting so I was glad we had come home early.  Finally, after about 20 minutes, he finally logged in as Travis and we were able to get connected.  The time went by quickly, but it was a happy conversation!  We're looking forward to seeing  him in a few short months!

NCS!

Conner's team had a great season this year and qualified for NCS.  They had their first game (that ended up being a home game) last Tuesday. Here they are being instructed by the ref.
It was really pretty awesome that we got to host a game!  We had a great crowd and the boys played great.  They ended up winning in three sets!
They then played in the 2nd round against the 1st seeded team.  Before the game start, their star player broke the light after he spiked the ball on one of his own players and it went up and hit the light.  Our boys were a little intimidated, but played their best.
Here is Conner setting in that game.  They didn't win, but we were so proud of their hard work this season.
Great job Concord!

Last Track Meet

Calissa ran track this year and had her final track meet on Saturday.  She didn't love running track and probably won't do it again next year, but good job to her for sticking with it an doing her best!

Mormon Prom

Conner was able to go to Mormon Prom this past weekend with his friend Melissa.
Melissa, Conner, Ralph and Miranda
She was a great friend to go with him at the last minute and they had a nice time. I was sad to miss it since I was at Women's Conference, but Trav took some nice pictures!

BYU Women's Conference

Last week I had the opportunity to attend Women's Conference at BYU with my college roommates. We had a great time reconnecting after a few years.  We stayed in the apartments at Y-View and enjoyed eating out, talking way too late, and attending some awesome classes.
It's amazing how five years have passed and we pick right back up where we left off.  Old friends are the best!
We also helped out with some service making quilts! Many hands make light work!
 Until next time ladies!
