Conner's Balloon Car

Conner had to make a balloon car for science this quarter.  Most of the classes had a month to work on it, but Conner only had about 5 days (and he forgot about it over the weekend).  It had to be able to travel 5 meters.  Here is his creation entitled: Cool Blue.
After lots of stress, some yelling, and some tears, we were able to get it done, time all the test runs, and write up the report.  Great job Conner!

Volleyball Party

Last weekend, we hosted both the JV and Varsity VB boys for a pizza party.
Poor Parker had to sit and watch everyone play around.  Luckily, no one got hurt!
Uncle Drew wouldn't have been happy if we had injured another VB player!

 They played some Volleyball,

 basketball, ping pong,
and enjoyed eating pizza, listening to music, and visiting around the fire.

They ended the evening roasting marshmallows over the fire.
They had a fun time, and we enjoyed hosting this great group of boys!

Subbing

I had the fun opportunity to spend 2 1/2 weeks in the Special Day Class with some wonderful kids and assistants.  There are nine kids in the class and I love being in there with them when I get the chance.
While I was there we celebrated some fun days!
(Samira, Alex, Josh, Kaleb, Justin, Ciara, Dont'a, & Angel)
The 100th day of school was while I was there ...
Valentine's Day
Alex with his Valentine Bag that we made.
 President's Day,
(Can you see Abraham and George?)
(Kaleb, Nichol, and Dont'a making our President cookies)
and the Olympics.  We watched different events each day on the computer and them wrote about them and drew a picture.  We also kept track of the medal count and used that to help us with our math skills.
Once their teacher came back from surgery she invited me back to read to the kids for "Read Across America Day."  Here they are dressed up for Wacky Wednesday! I love these kids and jump at every chance I can get to be in there with them!
