Arizona Thanksgiving Fun!

On Wednesday morning we left Disneyland and headed to Arizona to spend time with my brother and his family for Thanksgiving. As you pull into their driveway they have a sign that says "Romer Ranch." That was a good way to describe it!Maddie, Nathan, Kaylie, Calissa and Parker are giving water to the horses.

Hold on Conner!

Parker having his turn.

Me too.
Even Travis got a ride.

Parker, Conner and Maddie doing a funny dance.
Not sure why, but they look cute!
We got there on Wednesday afternoon and looked around at all the animals. They have horses, chickens, rabbits, a peacock named Kevin, dogs, cats, goats, baby chicks in the house that the kids loved holding until the cat came in and eggs incubating in the bathroom that were just starting to hatch as we were leaving. Wednesday night we went out to pizza and then went back to our hotel to sleep. Calissa got to spend the night with Uncle BJ and Aunt Chrystal. Thursday morning we got over to their house bright and early for homemade donuts. Then we helped with Thanksgiving dinner. We watched and played some football, chatted and the kids played with the animals outside. They loved it. We had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner! (Thanks Chrystal and BJ!) We also went on a walk and got scared by a HUGE dog!
Here is Trouble. He decided that he liked the boys' hats so he curled up inside of them.
Conner and Trouble.
What a great name for a cat!

Calissa with the goats.

BJ and Kevin (the peacock).
He was really pretty.

Friday morning we picked up breakfast on our way over and then the kids wanted to ride the horses one more time. As Calissa was on the horse, I look over and there is Conner driving the bobcat all by himself. I was nervous that he was going to crash into something, but he did great and had fun!

Parker got his turn next and did a good job as well.
He's not quite a careful as Conner.

Then Calissa got her turn with Trav.

We washed up, got in the car and headed out to Mesa to see the Castleton family. They shared their Thanksgiving leftovers with us and we had a great four-hour chat! We sure miss their family! We got on the road about 5 PM AZ time and decided to see how the drive went and just stop somewhere along the way for the night. Well, we weren't too tired and decided to go all the way home. We got home about 3 AM CA time (4 AZ time) and gladly climbed into our beds. Conner zonked out about 11:30 CA time while Parker and Calissa stayed up until about 1 AM!

Saturday we went out to breakfast at Diggers, got out our Christmas things, went to see Tangled and did a little grocery shopping. It was a great way to end our vacation. We had dad (and not the Bishop) for a week and a half. What a great time!
