Utah Christmas

This was our year to spend Christmas in Utah.
We left on Saturday morning a little before 5 to make the long drive there.
As we were coming over Donner (where there was very little snow) we watched the beautiful sunrise.
Donner Lake was covered in a blanket of fog.  Beautiful!
We only hit snow on the freeway over one pass around Elko.  Other than that, it was smooth sailing.  We got to Bountiful and some beautiful snow in their backyard!

Sunday, we went to church and Elder and Sister Anderson (from the 12 Apostles) were the speakers.  They both gave great talks and we enjoyed listening to them.  Sacrament Meeting ran long so we only had about 10 minutes for a Sunday School lesson.
Monday, we got up and after doing a little snow shopping (why do my boys keep growing?) we went up near Park City for some tubing.
We haven't gone for several years, but it's always a lot of fun.
It was a little crowded, but we had a great time!
Trav and I enjoying the snow!
 Family picture time!

On our way down the mountain.
I was taking the picture above when they pushed us off the mountain.
Figured I'd switch it to video mode and start taping. (Don't mind my finger!)
 Conner, Jarom, Eisley & Parker
They always have fun with their cousins!
 Azure, Maddie, Logan, and Rob
Calissa and Trav going up the tow lift.  Makes it really easy to sled when you don't have to do the hard work of climbing back up the hill!

 Jordan and MiQuelle

 Calissa loves her Uncle Jordan!
The whole group (minus Grandma Burr who was in the warming tent enjoying some peace and quiet).
Maddie and Calissa with Uncle Jordan.
(Don't you love Calissa's pink hat and jacket and her RED pants?!?)
(We live in California ... she wears what fits!)
On Christmas Eve day we went to the movies to see Frozen.  After a yummy dinner, our family put on a Christmas program.  After the program the grandkids (that were there) took a picture with Grandma and Grandpa.

Parker, Logan, Kaisen
Grandma made all the kids some Reindeer food.
Calissa and Parker went  out to sprinkle it in the snow.

Poor Conner wasn't feeling well and went to bed even before everyone had left.  Poor kid!  He had a high fever and really didn't feel good.  He missed out on the reindeer food.
Christmas morning the kids got up and were ready to open presents.
Calissa laying in bed while we read Luke 2 before going upstairs.
Merry Christmas!!
Look what Santa brought them!

Exciting!

Happy kids!
New clothes for Calissa
A pillow for Parker
A basketball signed by Jimmer from Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kellie!
A jersey signed by Jimmer too!
Parker loving his bungee chair!
Conner with Xbox points, and a new game for the PlayStation
Calissa with her new boots!  She was soooo excited!
New Lego Friends from mom and dad and Conner.
Calissa loved all her presents at Christmas.  She walked around in these boots all day and played/read with her Kindle!
Christmas night everyone came over for dinner and games.
Rob, Trav, RK, Jami, and Grandpa

The kids with their presents from Grandma and Grandpa Burr.  They got "dough."
The paper said:
"Gingerbread men with yummy icing,
Are oh so good and extremely exciting.
I set out to make a dozen or two,
But ran out of time, oh what do I do?

So instead of the cookies, I tied with a bow,
Your own personal "stash" of Holiday Dough!!!
Merry Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Burr!
On Friday we went to visit my Grandpa.  We took him out to lunch and Parker spent some time interviewing him for his history class at school.  We also got to visit with Kevin, Kellie and family.  Unfortunately, Conner didn't get to come with us since he was still sick with a fever.  Sam had just had his tonsils taken out the day before and we didn't want to get him, or Great Grandpa sick!
Friday night Conner and I stayed home, while Trav, Parker, and Calissa went into Salt Lake to see the Christmas windows, and the lights at Temple Square.
These are all made out of candy!

Smile Calissa!
Enjoying the beauty of Temple Square.
After they all went to I-HOP for some hot chocolate. RK flew back to Seattle that night and we were taking off for home in the morning.  Good bye Utah family!  It's always fun.  See you this summer!
