Hiking on Mount Diablo

Trav and I went on a Valentine's Day/Birthday hike on Mount Diablo last Monday since Trav had the day off work.  Conner was at Show Choir practice (where he always is) and Calissa was sick.  Trav and I drove out to Clayton to begin our "Waterfall Hike."
It was supposed to be a "moderate" 6.5 mile hike.  Well, let me tell you ... it felt more than moderate to me.  After the first 1.5 miles (which was all uphill) it was so much better.  However, the scenery was beautiful and it was just the excuse I needed to stop often to take pictures!
One of the first waterfalls we encountered.

I think we saw 4-5 waterfalls along the hike.  They weren't very big, but it was definitely a reward for the hiking!
I'm sure there would be more water if you went right after a storm. (Trav is pointing to the waterfall behind him, but he actually just covered it up with his pointing!)
The view from the highest point.  I wish I had brought my better camera ... it was gorgeous!
A selfie from us.  Behind us in the top of Mt. Diablo ... we basically climbed the whole thing!

It was a beautiful day and I'm glad that we got to spend some time together enjoying the beauty of the area around us!
