We headed to Utah last weekend for our week long summer trip. We had a great time catching up with family, making memories, and eating lots of yummy food.
On Monday, we went to Boondocks. It wasn't crowded at all. We had fun driving the cars.
Here is Maddie, me and Kell.
Trav and Calissa
Parker, Conner, Azure and Logan
I passed almost everyone the first time we rode them. It was a lot of fun.
After driving the cars we decided to go miniature golfing before it got too hot. Trav was already hot after he got a hole in one!
12 of us went golfing.
Robert and Melanee
Go Conner!
Trav's dad golfed with an umbrella all day.
Someone got a hole in one!
Then, it was time to cool off then in the bumper boats!
We got soaked! It was only our group on the boats and we had fun getting wet and cooled off! Somehow, only Conner's hat ended up super wet. How did that happen?
The whole group soaking wet.
(I look at these pictures and think, "How did my boys get taller than me?)
Bowling was next. The kids did a great job! With twelve of us bowling we had six on each lane. Each time we finished bowling on our lane, we would switch over to the other lane for our next turn. Unfortunately we didn't realize we were supposed to do that until Conner got a strike that counted on Logan's score.
After a picnic lunch outside, we played arcade games and laser tag until it was time to go home.
It was a great time! Once we were done we went and saw my Grandpa Romer in Layton for a short visit. We had a nice time visiting with him.
Tuesday, we played games like ladderball.
They also spent quite a bit of time playing volleyball during the week. There were many games of tag in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard as well as quite a few board games.
MiQuelle, Grandma and Logan
After our pizza dinner we went into Salt Lake to see the Bee's baseball team play.
(Not sure about Conner's face?)
Grandpa and Parker
Jordan, MiQuelle and Azure
Maddie and Rob
The Bee's ended up winning and one guy hit 3 home runs in the game!
After the game was over they had a terrific fireworks show.
Wednesday was Pioneer Day in Utah. We went out to breakfast, did some shopping, went to see "Turbo" and then had a BBQ dinner. Once dinner was over they did some Mento Geysers with Diet Coke. This was our first experience with them.
Each of the kids got a chance to drop some Mentos in and run away.
The clouds were beautiful that hot night! (It was HOT the whole time we were there!)
A deer across the street was wondering what was going on. We see deer every time we are there.
After a trip to Nielson's for some frozen custard concrete's we went over to Azure and Rob's for some fireworks. Calissa playing with Dew.
Sparklers
Conner and Dew
They had some huge fireworks.
They shot way up into the air. After a few I decided that I was too close and moved under the covered front porch to watch. The kids loved them.
Thursday, we went to the splash pad at the park and played in the water, had a picnic lunch, played some baseball, basketball, and volleyball, and had an ice cream.
Kennedy and Conner
Conner, Logan, Maddie, Kennedy and Calissa
We had a dutch oven dinner on Thursday night and said goodbye to everyone (including Parker - he was staying to go to EFY).
Friday, we headed back home to California, anxious to see our completed backyard. We stopped over at Girl's Camp for Travis to do a Bishop's fireside with the girls in our ward and then got back home about 11 that night. Here is Conner and Calissa at Rucker Lake while we waited for Trav. It was a shorter than normal trip, but we packed in plenty of fun.
