Friday we spent the day on Disney's Private Island, Castaway Cay.
Here is the gorgeous view as we pulled into port.
After breakfast and before meeting for our 5K run, we went up onto Deck 12 for some ping pong
and miniature golf (as well as some pictures).
We had signed up to run the 5K on Castaway Cay that morning, so we went to check in for the race. Calissa decided she needed a picture on his motorcycle on our way.
Here we are with our numbers and ready to head off the ship.
There were over 200 people registered for the race. Parker came in first for our family ... and first for the whole race.
Calissa was our picture taker and she wasn't quite ready when Parker came in. He actually finished in the high 17's. (He hadn't run since State the end of November and he was quite sore the next day).
Travis came in next around 22 minutes.
Conner came in third (for our family) in around 23 minutes.
(He hadn't run since the beginning of November!)
I came in last for our family (but definitely not last overall) in around 28 minutes!
(I would say I was speedy, but compared to my family, I'm pretty slow!)
A happy, sweaty family after the race!
Calissa added a new swim shirt and hat to her wardrobe after getting a pretty bad sunburn on Tuesday!
Grandpa with his toes in the sand!
Enjoying the island!
We actually never got farther in the water then putting our feet in! It was a little chilly (compared to the water in the Caribbean) and we did other things instead. We enjoyed a nice lunch,
and some games in the games pavilion.
Parker won a key chain in a 18-21 year old basketball shoot out!
(He made 26 shots in a minute!)
Here's a few of the ship from down the beach. It looks super crowded, but didn't feel that way. We were actually hanging out farther down the beach and there were definitely less people the farther you walked.
Calissa with her castle and shell creation.
Later in the afternoon it was time to walk back to the ship.
(I love this shot)
Until we meet again Castaway Cay!
After a shower and blow dry, Calissa had an appointment at the "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique."
Do you like her unicorn horn?
She was lucky enough to get the princess treatment from her "fairy godmother."
After that and another beautiful sunset picture, we headed to our final show of the cruise, "An Unforgettable Journey." (Yes, I cried!)
We also met the cruise director Ray, in person. He was the cruise director when we went 2 1/2 years ago. Super nice guy!
I wanted a picture of the boys, but Conner turned around backwards so I took the opportunity to get a picture of his bum!
This is his "seriously mom?" face! (And Parker's new Disney button down!)
Calissa and I posing for the camera!
Our last night we had dinner in Animator's Palate where you get to design your own animated character. Here is mine!
Calissa's
Parker's
Trav's
Conner's
Later in the evening they come to life!
Calissa looking like a princess.
They surprised Travis with a happy birthday serenade, a yummy dessert and birthday pin!
Then it was showtime!
Me and Conner's characters are in green.
Travis and Calissa's are in green as well.
(Somehow we ended up not getting a picture of Parker's!)
Here is Conner's character dancing with the Genie.
And ... the credits with all our names!
We had the best wait staff! (We do every time). Here we are with Steve, our head server.
Our assistant server, Pat!
One last night of towel art.
We got our luggage packed up and outside our door by 10:00 pm and then it was time to go to bed. The next morning we couldn't have our breakfast with our servers because our flight was too early. We ate in Cabanas and then got our luggage and went through customs. Then, our driver met us and it was back to the airport and onto home!
Seriously ... the best vacation EVER!!
