Conner the Marksman

(Made by Conner)

We went on a camping trip and it rained the first day we were there.  It was pretty miserable and all we did was set up camp and have dinner.  The next day we shot some guns.  We shot a .22, a 45/70, and a 30/30  rifles.  We also shot a 4/10, and a 12 barrel shotgun.  I only shot the .22, the 30/30 rifle, and the 4/10 shotgun.  We had a contest with the .22 rifle to see how good we could aim and I won!!!!!!  My score was 76 and I only won by 1 point!  Overall, it was a fun campout and I had fun with the deacons (and 1 teacher).

This is Jen with a little note.  Conner went on this two-day scout trip about a month ago when they had a Friday off school in November.  I was nervous about him going ... especially since they were shooting guns and he's not a big kid.  He had a GREAT time and won the shooting contest.  One of the leaders that went showed Travis a video yesterday of Conner shooting a pumpkin.  He said he was holding the gun and looking at the pumpkin, lined it up and blew a hole right through the middle of it!  How fun for Conner! Great job buddy!

Halloween 2011

The kids had a fun Halloween this year.  Who doesn't love going door to door and getting candy?
Our weekend started off with our annual Trunk or Treat at the church on Friday night.  It was well attended and the kids had a good time.  Parker didn't really trunk or treat and Conner only went to a few cars.  They are getting too old!  So sad!
Calissa decided that she wanted to be a Candy Corn Witch again this year.  That made it super easy for me.  All I had to do was buy a pair of black leggings so her skirt wasn't too short. Thanks Calissa for being so easy to please!  She looks cute, huh?
Conner decided to go as ...
Jimmer!
 Parker went as "Super Parker!"
(Ragnar shirt and plastic table cloth!)
Last night we went to the annual Halloween party at the Easton's house and did a little trick-or-treating in their neighborhood.  We always leave a bowl of candy on our porch while we are gone with a note that says to take a few pieces.  Some years we have candy left, some years we have none and some years our bowl is missing too.  This year, we had tons of candy left!  (Which is good and bad!  Luckily I buy things I don't like to eat so I'm not too tempted!)

Soccer ... Another year done (Almost)

We were not too excited about soccer this year.  (And when I say we, I mean Travis and I).
The kids were excited (except for Parker once school and cross country started).
I only took my camera one week to games and that was when Calissa was not playing because of her broken finger (which I probably caused because the thought did cross my mind that if one of the kids got injured (not too far fetched, right) that we would have less games to go to).

Conner did great this season.  His confidence continues to grow and he's becoming quite the scoring machine!

His team ended up tied for 1st place in the tournament, but ended up seeded 2nd after the tie-breaker.  They play their final game against the other team on Saturday.  Conner scored 4 goals in his three games on Saturday!  Way to go Fusion!

Parker's season was a season of juggling school, soccer and cross country practice.  He put a lot of miles on his legs the last several months (including the Ragnar), but managed to do well in all of his responsibilities.
He scored quite a few goals this season as well.
This was his last season playing soccer.  As much as I won't miss all the practice and running him around, I will miss watching him play.  He is a lot of fun to watch.

Calissa's season was short because of her finger, but she was able to come back for her tournament last Saturday.  Her team ended up the season in 4th place.  Calissa did a great job as goalie for her team this year and she really improved from last year.
